Welcome, friend, to the heart of Artisan Home & Heritage! I’m Emily, one of the co-founders of this little corner of the internet where home and history come together. Our mission is simple yet deeply personal: to bring timeless beauty into your space through artisan-crafted pieces that tell a story. From the moment I started this journey with my husband Wolf, I knew we wanted to create something meaningful—decor that’s not just beautiful but built to be cherished for generations. Join us as we share the story behind our brand, the passion that drives us, and a special introduction to the furry heart of our business, our dog Kokie.
Where It All Began
I’ve always loved vintage decor, interior design, and the magic of DIY. Growing up in a small town in Virginia, I discovered my passion for design early, sketching floor plans and constantly rearranging furniture in my childhood bedroom to capture a new feeling in the space. Every year, my town hosted a large flea market, drawing people from all over to sell unique vintage pieces. I’d go and buy a few treasures, fixing them up with care, dreaming of the stories they held. My grandparents were huge antique enthusiasts, too—they’d spend their weekends traveling to buy antiques, and when they passed away, I was able to keep a few cherished pieces that I still hold dear today. When I find antiques or vintage pieces, I can feel the history in them, and I want to give them new life in a modern home. Melding history with the present and future has always been a love of mine.
That passion led me to SCAD, where I earned a degree in Interior Design, refining my eye for detail and deepening my appreciation for spaces that feel curated, lived-in, and truly meaningful. I thrive in hands-on work—whether I’m painting, refinishing furniture, or coming up with a new way to style something, I’m always creating. My husband Wolf’s journey into design was shaped by movement and adaptability. Born in Kansas and raised in a military family, he experienced a variety of homes and cultures, which deepened his appreciation for functionality and innovation. His curiosity about how things are made led him to SCAD, where he pursued a degree in Industrial Design, mastering furniture-making and product development. It was there that we met, connected by our shared love for design and craftsmanship, and later married in 2023. As the behind-the-scenes force of Artisan Home & Heritage, Wolf keeps the business running smoothly, constantly reinventing what’s possible while ensuring every creation reflects our commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Together, with my background in interior design and Wolf’s expertise in industrial design, it felt like a no-brainer to blend our talents and build a brand that reflects our shared vision and values. All of these moments and memories sparked the idea for Artisan Home & Heritage—a place where vintage treasures are restored with love and care. What better way to make a living than doing what you love?

At Artisan Home & Heritage, we design original, exclusive art and decor to transform spaces into homes, fostering joy and inspiring customers to curate their perfect sanctuary. Our focus on legacy-driven decor and furniture comes from our background of passed-down pieces and our desire to bring that spirit to others. Whether you have antique treasures you’re not sure what to do with, or you’re looking to find a few of your own to cherish and pass down as a legacy, we’re here for you—because we care, and we’re passionate about it. We believe that every piece in your home should have a story. That’s why we pour our hearts into restoring artisan windows, curating vintage finds, and creating decor that feels like an heirloom in the making.
We’re committed to craftsmanship and authenticity. Nothing is more frustrating than spending your hard-earned money on something you’re excited about, only to have it fall apart (okay, there are definitely worse things in life, but it’s still a defeating feeling!). We’ve spent countless hours curating a store that prides itself on unique, quality pieces. From sourcing products with our high standards in mind, restoring vintage pieces ourselves, finding thrown-away antiques that just needed a little TLC, to creating artisan windows from scratch, we’ve poured our hearts into building a place of authenticity and quality. We’re also passionate about sustainability—giving new life to beautiful, well-made materials that deserve to be cherished for generations.
Meet Kokie, Our Furry Co-Founder
No story about Artisan Home & Heritage would be complete without introducing Kokie, our loyal companion and unofficial co-founder. She’s a 4-year-old (at least that’s what we’ve been told—no one knows for sure since she’s a rescue pup) “gerpoodledor.” Essentially, she’s a big ol’ mutt, but a very happy and sweet girl. She doesn’t know a stranger and would choose a pet over a treat any day. She’ll howl with you and steal a hat right off your head. She’s an integral part of this business. Whether we’re sanding down furniture or packing orders, Kokie is always by our side. She’s been with us through every step of this journey, and we can’t imagine building this business without her! Keep an eye out—she’ll appear in some of our videos.
What’s Next for Artisan Home & Heritage
This business has been a long time in the making, and while we’re just getting started, we do have big plans. In the coming months, we’ll be adding more vintage finds and decor to our collections, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be expanding to include select design services—keep an eye out for more details on that soon!
